Apostle John H. Bibbens is a native of Westmoreland County Va. Realizing the calling of God upon his life, he entered the Gospel Ministry in 1981 and was licensed to preach in 1982 by the Zion Baptist Church in Kinsale, Virginia. In 1983 he was called to Pastor the Beulah Baptist Church in Lively, Virginia. There he served for 13 years. During his Pastorate at Beulah he matriculated at the Richmond Virginia Seminary and received a BTh Degree. One year later he received a BA in Religious Studies.
In 1996 he was called to Pastor the Zion Baptist Church in Lottsburg, Virginia. During this time he returned to the Richmond Virginia Seminary in pursuit of a Masters of Divinity. As time progressed, it became quite obvious that God was doing a mighty work in his life. As he desired more of Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit was manifesting Himself through His vessel John Bibbens. In 2007 he was called by God into the Apostolic. Apostle Bibbens led a traditional African American Baptist Church with a 140 year history into an Apostolic Five Fold Ministry House of God with a multi-cultural population. As God was lifted at Zion, people began to come from all over the Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula and from neighboring states to experience the signs and wonders that were being manifested by God through the hands of Apostle Bibbens. Testimonies of healings, financial breakthroughs and other miraculous acts are numerous and continue to be ongoing.
Apostle Bibbens currently remains the Pastor of now Zion Church at Lottsburg where he has spearheaded and completed several building projects to include a Fellowship facility and an Educational Wing. He has led Zion in the purchasing of several vehicles of transportation, multiple musical instruments to include a Hammond C3 organ with a Leslie speaker, as well as 45 acres of land. The sanctuary has been refurbished to include flags from other nations and a XGA-LCD Multi-media projection system with a 60x80 mounted screen. For the first time in the history of the church an open invitation is being extended to everyone with a billboard advertisement on one of the main corridors in the Northern Neck, US Highway 360 West. With all these wonderful accomplishment and purchases, Apostle Bibbens proclaims TO GOD BE THE GLORY, the church is debt free!
He initiated the addition of 5:30 A.M. prayer every Wednesday morning. For 5 years now worshipers have had the choice of attending 8:00 A.M. worship and or 11:00 A.M. worship every Sunday Morning. He is also Co-Founder of the Higher Purpose Conference of the Northern Neck. This coalition of Apostolic Ministries has brought to the Northern Neck world known preachers such as Bishop Michael Pitts and Pastor Sheryl Brady. Being motivated by the unction of the Holy Spirit, he has moved Zion to higher heights of praise and adoration unto God. Zion under the leadership of Apostle Bibbens now employs a diverse well equipped operational staff to include a full time Pastor. Many sons and daughters of the Word have been and continue to be birthed under his awesome leadership. He spiritually fathers numerous Pastors in Virginia and Maryland with a wide array of disciples assisting him as he shows forth love for sinner and leads them to Christ.
Apostle Bibbens is a multi-faceted true man of God. He has been blessed to offer prayer in the Virginia General Assembly. He has served as Moderator of the Northern Neck Baptist Association and its Commissions. He has served as District President of the Baptist General Convention. He also served as President of the Northern Neck Ministers Conference. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Church Resource Services. He is past President of the Northumberland County Branch of the NAACP and is past President of the Westmoreland County Branch of the NAACP. He is a board member of the S.A.I.F. water committee.
In June of 2012, Apostle Bibbens saw a need for the expansion of Kingdom work not only in the rural area but in urban areas as well. Thus the birth of Zion Church at Fredericksburg, in Fredericksburg, Va. This Apostolic House is a thriving, worship filled place of “Unconditional Love and Acceptance”. Services here began on Sundays at 5pm. This allowed Apostle to fill the pulpit at both locations. ZCF quickly out grew the one service and has now become a fully operations Apostolic Worship Center with two services each Sunday. Apostle Bibbens is grateful to God for the vision and manifestation of “One Church – Two Locations”.
Apostle Bibbens is married to the former Adraine M. Jones, who holds the Apostolic office of Prophetess of Zion. Together they have great expectations of the marvelous works God has in store through their ministry of Kingdom Building. No doubt Apostle John H. Bibbens has relinquished his own will and answered unto the Lord, “Thy Will Be Done on Earth as It Is in Heaven”.
Prophetess Adraine Jones-Bibbens is an anointed Woman of God who has devoted her life to Kingdom Building through the Ministry of Music. Having been raised in a Christian home, her parents Mrs. Elsie G. Jones and the Late Deacon Levi Jones instilled the love of God into her and her sister Angela, as they nurtured her God given musical ability. By the tender age of 10 she was already directing several church choirs, including her family group “The Jones Family Singers” Because of her passion for music, she chose it to be her life’s career.
Prophetess Bibbens holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Instrumental Music Education and Applied Flute from Virginia State University and has continued her studies at Virginia State and the University of Virginia. She soon realized God’s call upon her life and surrendered to the work of the Most High.
Since then, she has served as Minister of Music for several churches as well as Minister of Music of the Northern Neck Baptist Association and its Commissions. She has been the featured soloist as well as done back-up vocals on several released CD’s. God has blessed her to travel extensively throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. She is employed by the Westmoreland County Public School System as Music Instructor, grades K-5.
She has 4 beautiful daughters, Mrs. Mahogany Hart of Fredericksburg Va., Ms. Avante’ Baylor of Tampa Fl., Mrs. Avrian Gray of Richmond Va. and Ms. Angelica Baylor of Atlanta Ga.
On April 29, 2006 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Apostle John H. Bibbens, also uniting their Ministries as one, to bless the people of God. She was licensed to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ in 2010 and currently holds the office of Prophet within the Five Fold Ministry aiding in providing spiritual covering for the people of Zion Church at Lottsburg and Zion Church at Fredericksburg.
Prophetess Bibbens blesses God for the Ministry of Music and Spoken Word that God has birthed through her that spans almost 50 years. TO GOD BE THE GLORY, FOR THE GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE, IS STILL DOING, AND WHAT IS TO COME. A-MEN.
Pastor Marvin Johnson was born September 11, 1959 to Gladys H. Johnson and the late Melvin H. Johnson of Tucker Hill, VA. He attended Westmoreland schools and graduated from Washington and Lee High School in 1977. He is the youngest of seven which includes a twin brother, Melvin Johnson.
After high school Pastor Johnson enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served 5 years as Security Specialist in South Dakota, Canada, and Oklahoma. He spent the next 12 years as a Manpower Management Specialist in Washington State, North Carolina, and Germany (7 years). The last 3 years Pastor Johnson was a Quality Air Force Instructor in Turkey.
After his retirement from the United States Air Force, he became employed with the Westmoreland County schools as the ISS (In-School Suspension) Coordinator at Montross Middle School, for eight years. He is the mentor to many young men in the community and tutors many high school students in the area of math.
In 1998, the prophecy of him becoming a preacher by one of the elder saints from his childhood church family came to pass. In year of 1998, he was licensed as a minister at Zion Baptist Church, Tucker Hill, VA.
After prayer and meditation, Pastor Johnson was led to join Zion Lottsburg. He actively participated in various ministries, such as, Youth Pastor, Choir, Director of Youth Choir, Sunday School Teacher, Ministerial Staff and Men’s Ministry.
In 2001 he was ordained in the ministry at Zion Lottsburg. He began to see and understand the scripture from Philipians 1:6, that God has promise to finish what he started when He saved us. Once Zion transitioned into the Apostolic, he was appointed in the office of Pastor within the Five-Fold Ministry under the leadership of Apostle John H. Bibbens. Pastor Johnson demonstrates compassion, kindness and empathy as he provides counsel or support to members and the community offering advice or counsel during challenging times and pre-marital couples.
In 2017, he was appointed Site Pastor to assist in the operations of the Zion church office and immediate needs of the members and community as Apostle Bibbens oversees the operation of 2 locations Lottsburg and Fredericksburg.
On April 3rd 1999, Pastor Johnson was joined in holy matrimony to Andrea Renee Parker. He began a new family with his wife Renee and her two sons, Daniel and David.
Pastor Andrea Renee Johnson is a native of Northumberland County. She graduated in 1985 from Northumberland High School after which she attended Old Dominion University – Norfolk, VA, Kelsey-Jenney Business College – San Diego, CA and Rappahannock Community College – Warsaw, VA.
She has been active member of Zion Church at Lottsburg since a child. She actively participated in various ministries throughout her years as a member such as Ushers, Choir, Youth, Women, Deaconess, Ministerial Staff, Office Staff, Sunday School, Bible Study and wherever deemed necessary to help promote the Kingdom of God.
She accepted the call to preach in November of 2008. She was licensed on December 28, 2008. In November of 2009, Apostle Bibbens appointed her as Youth Pastor and ordained in July of 2014.
Although she accepted the call to preach in 2008, she had been operating in the spiritual gift of Teaching for number of years. Once Zion had transition into the Apostolic she was appointed in the office of Teacher within the Five-Fold Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Bibbens. Using the gift that was bestowed upon her, Minister Johnson spends time in study and meditation to insure the growth of the people by the impartation of the Word of God through unction of the Holy Spirit by developing and/or choosing curriculum for Christian Education Classes and teaching classes for Bible Study, Sunday School and within ministries of the church to keep the people abreast with vision of the visionary.
In 1999, she was blessed to become Pastor Marvin Johnson’s “Good Thing”. Together the Johnson’s serve with a passion and purpose for people, ministering with a refreshing depth of love and compassion that draws the lost and equip Believers for their God – ordained destiny. They are blessed to be the parents of 2 sons, Daniel and David who resides in Los Angeles, CA.
One of her favorite scriptures is Psalms 24:4-5, “Show me your ways, O Lord; Teach me your paths; Lead me in thy truths and teach me. For thou art the God of my salvation, on thee do I wait all day.”
